Reverse description The mint name of Alsheim is rendered in three horizontal lines across the reverse field, reading ALA / BOTES / HAIM, together forming the place name Alaboteshaim (Alsheim). The bold, widely spaced capital letters are deeply struck in the characteristic Carolingian hammered style. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven, consistent with hand-struck silver deniers of the period. No border or additional decorative elements are present.
