Obverse description Central field depicts a frontal facing stag's head with prominent antlers, the animal rendered in a bold, stylized medieval manner. A six-pointed star or mullet appears above the stag's head between the antlers. Flanking the stag on either side are two facing wings or leaf-like devices, and below the neck a serpentine or scroll motif curves to either side. The design is contained within a plain inner circle, with no legible inscription. The overall style is characteristic of 13th-century Hungarian bracteate-influenced hammered coinage.

Reverse description The reverse displays a sinuous serpent or dragon rendered in profile, coiling across the field in a vigorous, naturalistic manner with clearly delineated scales along its body. A six-pointed star or mullet appears to the right of the creature. The composition is enclosed within a plain border, and the flat, uniface-style striking typical of thin Hungarian deniers of this period results in the reverse design appearing as a shallow relief counterpart to the obverse motif. No legend is present.
