Reverse description A large plain cross pattée occupies the full central field, dividing the coin into four quarters, with a small annulet or pellet in one quarter. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle bordered by a rope or cable pattern. The reverse legend runs along the outer margin in crude Latin lettering, consistent with the rough hammered technique typical of Avignon ecclesiastical coinage of the early sixteenth century.
