Reverse description A stylized tree with a central trunk and spreading branches occupies the field, rendered in the conventional heraldic manner of late medieval Catalan coinage. The device is set between two concentric beaded circles, with the outer Latin legend naming the issuing city. The design is characteristic of the municipal deniers struck at Gerona, with the arboreal motif serving as the civic emblem. Strike is typical of the period, with some flatness at the edges consistent with hand-hammered production.
