| Obverse description | Central field features a cross pattée enclosed within a plain inner circle, with a pellet in each of the four angles formed by the arms of the cross. The inner circle is surrounded by a beaded or rope-pattern border, outside of which the royal legend is arranged in a circular pattern. The overall design follows the standard Carolingian denier prototype, executed in a bold, somewhat crude hammered style characteristic of tenth-century Italian coinage. |

| Reverse description | The reverse displays a stylised temple or church facade motif rendered in three horizontal registers, with a triangular pediment surmounted by a small cross at the apex, recalling the Carolingian palace or church type derived from earlier Pavian coinage. The architectural device is enclosed within a plain inner circle and surrounded by the religious legend arranged around the circumference. The execution is characteristic of hammered medieval silver coinage, with boldly impressed but somewhat irregular lettering. |
