Obverse description Facing crowned bust of King Károly (Charles Robert) within a beaded inner circle, the monarch depicted frontally with stylized facial features and regal crown. The effigy is rendered in the characteristic flat, linear style of Angevin-era hammered coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the inner beaded border.

Reverse description A double cross occupies the central field, flanked above by two stylized Anjou lilies (fleurs-de-lis), one on each side of the upper arm. Below the horizontal arm of the cross appear two small crowned heads facing one another. At the lower arm of the cross, two birds are depicted facing each other, a heraldic device characteristic of Angevin Hungarian coinage. The design is contained within a beaded border.
