Obverse description Crowned royal effigy in left-facing profile at center, depicted with flowing hair beneath a prominent crown, all contained within a beaded inner circle. The legend KARVL REX, identifying the issuer as King Károly (Charles Robert of Anjou), runs along the periphery. The hammered flan displays characteristic medieval irregularity, with the portrait rendered in a bold, stylized Gothic manner typical of early 14th-century Hungarian coinage.
