Beschrijving keerzijde	A plain cross pattee divides the reverse field into four quarters, each containing a single capital letter of the Latin inscription D-E-D-S, reading clockwise and collectively forming the abbreviated mint name RADES or REDES, identifying the Razes (Razès) mint in the Languedoc region. The cross is boldly struck and extends nearly to the edge of the irregular flan. The lettering in each quarter is crudely but legibly rendered, consistent with the provincial workshop output of the early Carolingian period. The overall design is typical of the pre-reform denier type issued under Charlemagne before the monetary reform of 793–794.
