Reverse description Central device consists of a plain cross with two pellets or points at each extremity of the arms, set within a beaded inner circle. Two pellets are placed in each quarter formed by the arms of the cross, giving the field a symmetrical, ornamental appearance characteristic of Carolingian deniers of the reform coinage. The cross is boldly struck and dominates the inner field. The circumferential mint legend runs between the inner beaded circle and the outer rim, identifying the Quentovic mint.
