The letters are deeply struck and well-separated, occupying the majority of the flan surface with no additional decorative motifs or border. This plain, inscription-only type is characteristic of the pre-reform Carolingian denier series struck prior to the monetary reform of 793–794. The irregular flan edge and variable strike quality are consistent with hand-hammered production at a provincial mint.
