| Obverse description | Central field displays a small shield bearing the arms of the Bishopric of Lausanne, surmounted by a bishop's mitre or cross. The design is executed in a crude, late-medieval hammered style typical of minor ecclesiastical billon coinage. A circular legend in uncial Latin characters surrounds the central device, reading AVE + GRACIA + PLENA. The flan is irregular and slightly broader on one side, consistent with hand-struck production of the period. |
