Obverse description Central field dominated by a large bold cross pattée extending to the inner circle, with each quadrant containing small decorative elements typical of medieval Italian hammered coinage. The cross is rendered in a crude but characteristic style consistent with 14th-century Paduan mint production. The surrounding legend reads PADVA in uncial Latin characters, introduced by a cross pommée. The flan is irregular in shape, as is typical of hammered billon piccoli of this period and denomination.
