正面描述 Bare, laureate head of Augustus facing left, rendered in fine relief with carefully detailed hair falling in wavy locks beneath the laurel wreath. The portrait displays the idealised classicising style characteristic of Augustan coinage from the Lugdunum mint. The encircling legend reads AVGVSTVS DIVI F, disposed around the periphery of the flan. The flan is slightly irregular in shape, as is typical of struck silver denarii of this period.

附加信息

The IMP XII tribunician dating places this issue firmly in 11–10 BC, a moment when Augustus was consolidating the religious and political reforms that followed Actium. The Apollo reverse type is directly tied to his deliberate promotion of that deity as his divine patron — a relationship he had cultivated since at least 36 BC, cemented by the dedication of the Temple of Apollo Palatinus in 28 BC, built adjacent to his own house on the Palatine.

RIC I 193B is a scarcer variant within the broader Actian Apollo series. The mint was operating under the authority of moneyers whose names do not appear on this issue — a reflection of how Augustus had by this point effectively absorbed coinage authority into his own titulature.
