| Obverse description | Bare head of Augustus facing right, rendered in fine portraiture typical of the Augustan period, with neatly layered hair swept forward over the brow in characteristic fashion. The effigy is cleanly modeled with strong facial features and a naturalistic profile. The encircling legend reads AVGVSTVS DIVI F, distributed around the periphery of the flan. The field is smooth, and the coin exhibits the slightly irregular outline characteristic of hand-struck Roman silver coinage of this era. |
