Obverse description Bare head of Augustus facing left, rendered in fine Classical style with naturalistic portrait features including softly curled hair swept forward over the brow. The effigy fills the central field with confident, idealised modelling typical of Augustan court artistry. A beaded border encircles the design. The legend AVGVSTVS DIVI F is inscribed in the field around the portrait, reading from lower left upward and continuing to the right.
