| Opis rewersu | Augustus and Agrippa, both togate, seated side by side on a bisellium (double seat of honour) placed upon a raised platform decorated with three rostra (prow ornaments). An apparitor's staff is depicted to the left of the scene, symbolizing magisterial authority. The moneyer's name appears in the exergue and field as the legend C SVLPICIVS PLATORIN, identifying the tresvir monetalis Caius Sulpicius Platorinus responsible for the issue. The composition celebrates the joint authority and close partnership of Augustus and his son-in-law and general Agrippa. |
