Obverse description Bare head of Augustus facing right, rendered in fine high-relief portraiture characteristic of Augustan coinage. The emperor's features are idealized yet individualized, with closely cropped hair rendered in layered strands across the forehead. The obverse legend is distributed across the field, reading CAESAR to the left and AVGVSTVS to the right of the portrait. The flan shows the slightly irregular edge typical of hand-struck Republican and early Imperial silver coinage.
