| Beschrijving voorzijde | Facing head of Athena, turned slightly to the right, helmeted and crowned with a wreath of grain ears, rendered in the provincial South Italian style characteristic of late Metapontine bronze coinage. The goddess's facial features are modelled in low relief, with the grain wreath serving as the principal decorative element of the headdress. The flan is irregular in shape, as typical of hammered bronze issues of this period. |

The composition reflects the agrarian identity of the Lucanian colony and is characteristic of the later bronze issues attributed to circa 300–250 BC. |
