| Reverse description | Central field displays a passant lion enclosed within a lozenge (diamond-shaped) frame, representing the Kingdom of León, struck in the characteristically rough style of Castilian hammered billon coinage of the late fifteenth century. The lion is depicted in a simplified, stylized manner consistent with the small module and low relief of this denomination. A circular Latin legend surrounds the lozenge, partially legible on this specimen owing to the irregular flan strike. The reverse design mirrors the obverse in its geometric framing, creating the distinctive quartered heraldic composition associated with the Castile-León monetary reform coinage of Enrique IV. |
