| Beschrijving keerzijde | Within a beaded inner circle, a bold and thick crescent of large proportions dominates the central field, its horns pointing upward, with a small five-pointed star positioned within the concave interior of the crescent. The motif is a traditional Slavonian heraldic device appearing on the provincial coinage of this period. The entire device is contained within a plain raised rim, typical of hammered fractional issues. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Andrew III, the last of the Árpád dynasty, ruled Hungary and its dependent province of Slavonia under constant pressure from rival claimants backed by the papacy and the Angevin house of Naples. These tiny silver issues, struck at the very margins of medieval minting capability, circulated as the smallest denomination in a monetary system already under strain from political fragmentation. Andrew died in 1301 without a male heir, ending over three centuries of Árpád rule and rendering this issue a terminal product of a dynasty rather than a transitional one.
