Obverse description Facing bust of Christ Pantokrator depicted in high Byzantine style, with a cruciform nimbus bearing pellets at the terminals, wearing the pallium and colobium. The right hand is raised in benediction, while the left hand supports the holy Gospels. The abbreviated Greek inscription IC XC (Iesous Christos) is positioned to the left and right of the figure, flanking the bust in the concave field of the scyphate flan.
