Reverse description Concave reverse depicting Emperor Isaac II Angelos standing facing to the left, crowned and robed in the imperial vestments comprising the divitision, loros, and sagion, the latter occasionally ornamented with a star motif. He holds a cross-headed sceptre in his right hand and the akakia in his left. A hand of God emerges from the upper right field to crown the emperor, affirming divine sanction of his reign. The Greek inscription flanks the figure to left and right, identifying the emperor as Isaac Despot.
