| 背面描述 | Standing figure of Pax facing left, draped in flowing robes, raising her right hand and holding an olive branch in her left hand, emblematic of the peace personification. A star appears in the right field above the palm branch, serving as a mint mark, while the letter V appears in the left field as a workshop control mark. The reverse legend PAX AVG encircles the figure, proclaiming the peace of the Augustus. |

Victorinus ruled the breakaway Gallic Empire for less than two years before being murdered by one of his own officers — allegedly over an affair with the man's wife. The PAX AVG type is grimly ironic given that his reign was marked by near-constant military pressure and internal conspiracy. His coins flooded the western provinces in enormous quantities, struck at Cologne and likely a second Gallic mint, and bronze radiates of his reign survive in numbers that reflect just how prolific those workshops were in 270–271.
The RIC V.2 #118 "var" designation here flags a known divergence from the primary catalogued die — worth checking against AGK#15 for the specific officina mark.
