背面描述 Standing figure of Pax facing left, draped in flowing robes, raising her right hand and holding an olive branch in her left hand, emblematic of the peace personification. A star appears in the right field above the palm branch, serving as a mint mark, while the letter V appears in the left field as a workshop control mark. The reverse legend PAX AVG encircles the figure, proclaiming the peace of the Augustus.

附加信息

Victorinus ruled the breakaway Gallic Empire for less than two years before being murdered by one of his own officers — allegedly over an affair with the man's wife. The PAX AVG type is grimly ironic given that his reign was marked by near-constant military pressure and internal conspiracy. His coins flooded the western provinces in enormous quantities, struck at Cologne and likely a second Gallic mint, and bronze radiates of his reign survive in numbers that reflect just how prolific those workshops were in 270–271.

The RIC V.2 #118 "var" designation here flags a known divergence from the primary catalogued die — worth checking against AGK#15 for the specific officina mark.
