| Reverse description | The personification of Pax (Peace) stands facing left in the field, draped in long robes, holding an olive branch extended in her right hand and a sceptre or transverse spear in her left. The figure is rendered in the stylized manner typical of late Gallic Empire workshop production. The surrounding Latin legend PAX AVG is partially visible, with a workshop mark V and star (*) appearing in the field. A beaded border encircles the entire design. |

| Additional information |
Victorinus ruled the breakaway Gallic Empire for roughly two years before being murdered by one of his own officers — allegedly over an adultery dispute — around 271 AD. His PAX coinage is historically sardonic: sustained military pressure from Aurelian's reunification campaigns made lasting peace essentially impossible throughout his reign. The Gallic mint at Cologne was the primary source for these issues, churning out debased billon at volume to meet military payroll demands that the secessionist state could not otherwise fund.
