Obverse description Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Tetricus I facing right, wearing a distinctive radiate crown with pronounced points. The emperor is depicted with a short beard and curling hair, with paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The surrounding Latin legend reads IMP TETRICVS PF AVG, distributed around the periphery of the flan. The style is characteristic of the later Gallic Empire coinage, exhibiting the somewhat debased and stylised engraving typical of the Cologne mint under Tetricus. The irregular flan shape and fabric reflect the reduced silver content billon production of this period.

Reverse description The personification of Hilaritas, goddess of mirth and rejoicing, standing facing left in long flowing robes. She holds a long palm branch in her left hand and a cornucopiae in her right hand, rendered in the schematic style typical of late Gallic Empire antoniniani. The figure is centrally placed within the field, with no exergual marking visible. The surrounding Latin legend HILARITAS AVGG encircles the design, the double G denoting the plural Augusti and referencing the co-rule of Tetricus I and his son Tetricus II. The overall workmanship, while somewhat crude, remains consistent with documented issues from the Cologne mint workshop of this period.
