| Beschrijving voorzijde | Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Postumus facing right, rendered in the characteristic Style IV portraiture associated with his later coinage, with the paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The reverse type is a standard iconographic reference to the emperor's personal welfare and the prosperity of the state. The encircling legend SALVS POSTVMI AVG identifies the type, with the word division rendered as SALVS POS-TVMI AVG on the die. The composition is well-centered within the irregular flan typical of hammered Gallic Empire antoniniani. |
