Reverse description Large capital M denomination mark occupying the central field, executed in bold, angular strokes typical of Byzantine folles. A cross pattée is positioned above the M, serving as both a religious symbol and a design element crowning the denomination mark. Below the M, within the lower angle of the letter, appears the Theta (Θ) mintmark identifying the Syracuse mint. The composition is stark and monumental, with minimal additional ornamentation, consistent with late Syracusan follis production under Michael III.
