| 背面描述 | A highly detailed close-up portrait of a giant panda's face and upper body dominates the central field, rendered with exceptional relief and fine surface detail. The bear faces slightly left, with bamboo shoots visible to the right. The fineness and weight specification 50g Au 999 is inscribed along the upper rim in Latin characters, while the denomination 800元 appears in the lower field. The coin's border features a decorative inner ring framing the design. |

China's Panda gold bullion program, launched in 1982, made a significant structural change in 2016: the series abandoned its long-standing weight designations in troy ounces and converted entirely to metric grams, partly to distinguish the coins commercially in a market crowded with ounce-denominated bullion. The 50g piece sits at the top of the standard annual bullion lineup. Each year's reverse design changes — a deliberate policy decision made to drive collector demand alongside pure bullion buyers, a tactic that has kept secondary market premiums consistently above melt.
