Reverse description Central device features the Norwegian royal coat of arms — a rampant lion passant guardant holding an axe, set within a square shield with rounded studs at each corner and along the borders, surmounted by a royal crown with cross finial. To the left and right of the shield appear the denomination numerals and abbreviation, reading 8 to the left and SK to the right. The date is inscribed in the lower field beneath the shield, flanked by a decorative cross or mint mark between the digits. The field is plain and unadorned aside from these elements, with a reeded border encircling the design.
