| Descrizione del dritto | The obverse displays the crowned draped bust of King Ferdinand VII facing right, with the legend FERDIN·VII·DEI·GRATIA partially visible around the periphery and a date below the truncation. Superimposed on the king's chest is the rectangular Royalist countermark bearing the initials L.C.M. (La Comandancia Militar / The Military Command) applied in incuse, as used by Royalist forces during the Mexican War of Independence. The host coin design beneath the countermark retains the standard colonial portrait type. The countermark is boldly struck within a rectangular cartouche and dominates the central field. |
