Obverse description Bust of Emperor Justinian I facing right, diademed, draped, and cuirassed, rendered in the late antique imperial style typical of early Byzantine coinage. The effigy occupies the central field on a broad, irregular flan, with the imperial regalia visible across the shoulder. The surrounding Latin legend runs along the coin's periphery, partially legible due to the irregular striking and flan shape. The portrait exhibits the simplified, stylized treatment characteristic of provincial hammered copper issues of this period. A globus or decorative element is faintly visible at the bust truncation.
