Obverse description Central field occupied by a multi-line Arabic legend arranged within an ornate floral rosette or cartouche, displaying the denomination '6½' and the name and title of Ottoman Sultan Abdulmecid I ('Sultan Al-Ghazi Abdulmecid Khan'). The entire central device is framed by a decorative wreath of palm or olive branches radiating outward to the coin's rim, lending the composition a characteristic Ottoman-Tunisian aesthetic. The lettering is raised in relief against a recessed field, rendered in the thin-legend style characteristic of this subtype.
