正面描述 Black letterpress text on a green underprint composed of repeating small section-sign (§) characters forming a dense all-over pattern. The title 'PRISONERS OF WAR CAMPS' runs across the top, with a dotted line for 'CAMP OF ISSUE' below. A central panel framed by a fine guilloche border carries the denomination 'SIXPENCE' in bold capitals. The value '6d.' appears in large type at the lower right, a serial number at the lower left, and the restriction notice 'AVAILABLE IN CAMP OF ISSUE ONLY' along the bottom margin. 备注

The British War Department issued a range of low-denomination notes during 1943–44 for use in military canteens and NAAFI (Navy, Army and Air Force Institutes) establishments, keeping service pay circulating within controlled environments rather than bleeding into local civilian economies — particularly relevant wherever troops were stationed in occupied or sensitive territories. The 6 Pence sits at the bottom of that series, functionally closer to a token than conventional currency.

These notes were never intended to survive the war. Redemption and destruction were built into the scheme from the outset, which makes intact survivors more common in collector holdings than in any documented circulation story.
