He holds an uprooted fir tree as a staff in his right hand, with a large eagle or bird of prey displayed to his left. The figure is girdled with foliage, and stylized flora and waves decorate the lower and right portions of the field. The maker's signature L. CHR. LAUER NÜRNBERG appears in small letters at the lower rim, identifying the Nuremberg medal-making firm responsible for the issue. |
