Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Leopold I facing right, wearing armour and a flowing periwig, with a laurel wreath adorning his head. The emperor's characteristic prominent jaw and elaborate curled hair are rendered in high relief in the Baroque manner. A beaded inner border frames the design. The surrounding Latin legend reads LEOPOLDVS D G ROM IM SE AV G ET H B REX, identifying the ruler as Holy Roman Emperor, King of Hungary and Bohemia.
