| Obverse description | The Zambian national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a shield with wavy vertical lines flanked by two human supporters — a man to the left and a woman to the right — each rendered in traditional dress. An African fish eagle with wings displayed surmounts the shield, while a scroll at the base bears the national motto ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION. The date is divided either side of the shield, reading 20 to the left and 00 to the right. The legend BANK OF ZAMBIA arcs along the upper periphery, with the denomination 5000 KWACHA inscribed along the lower rim and the fineness mark 999 appearing in the lower central field. |
