At center, a representation of the Hungarian revolutionary flag — rendered with finely engraved parallel lines and featuring the characteristic hole where the communist coat of arms was cut out — occupies the central field. Flanking blocks display incuse repetitions of the date '1956', recalling the same brick-like motif seen on the obverse. A small engraver's mark appears to the right of center.
