| Reverse description | The reverse presents a stylized abstract composition commemorating the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. At center, a representation of the Hungarian revolutionary flag — rendered with finely engraved parallel lines and featuring the characteristic hole where the communist coat of arms was cut out — occupies the central field. Flanking blocks display incuse repetitions of the date '1956', recalling the same brick-like motif seen on the obverse. A small engraver's mark appears to the right of center. The circular legend 'MAGYAR FORRADALOM ÉS SZABADSÁGHARC 1956' (Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight 1956) frames the design along the rim, the coin again showing a gold-toned outer ring. |
