| Obverse description | Central design features a detailed relief of the Taedong Gate (Taedongmun), a historic multi-tiered Korean gate structure in Pyongyang, rendered with fine architectural detail against a mirror-polished field. Flanking the base of the gate are stylized relief decorations of foliage and decorative elements. The Hangul legend of the issuing authority curves along the upper periphery, while the denomination '500 WON' appears in the lower exergue accompanied by the silver fineness mark 'Ag999' to the right and the weight '12g' to the left. |
