Obverse description Central field depicts a stylized celestial map featuring multiple Western zodiac constellation figures rendered in a decorative, sculptural style against a star-dotted background. The constellations are arranged across the field in low relief, including recognizable figures such as a bear, archer, and crab. A circular legend along the upper rim reads 'REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN' in Latin script and 'ҚАЗАҚСТАН РЕСПУБЛИКАСЫ' in Kazakh Cyrillic script, flanking the denomination '500 ТЕҢГЕ' at the top center. The silver fineness and weight designation 'Ag 925 31.1g' appears in the lower field. The dodecagonal flan frames the entire composition within its flat, polished border.

Reverse description Central motif features a highly stylized, decorative horse in a recumbent pose rendered in the manner of ancient Scythian animal art, set within a plain inner circle. Surrounding the central horse device is an annular band containing twelve panels, each depicting one of the twelve animals of the Oriental zodiac calendar in relief. The outer legend along the dodecagonal border reads, in three languages, 'ШЫҒЫС КҮНТІЗБЕСI' in Kazakh, 'ВОСТОЧНЫЙ КАЛЕНДАРЬ' in Russian Cyrillic, and 'ORIENTAL CALENDAR' in Latin script, with the year '2014' and mint mark 'KMC' also inscribed. The overall composition is executed in a two-tone contrast between the frosted central devices and the polished border fields.
