| Reverse description | The reverse features a bold central composition depicting a large Latin cross, flanked on the left by an open door or Bible and on the right by a chalice, symbolizing Lutheran and Reformed Protestant traditions within Austria. The commemorative dates '1781' and '1981' are inscribed to either side of the cross, marking the bicentenary of the Edict of Toleration issued by Emperor Joseph II. The engraver's signature 'W.PICHL' appears in the lower central field beneath the cross. The circular legend around the periphery reads '200 JAHRE TOLERANZPATENT EVANGELISCHE KIRCHE IN ÖSTERREICH', rendered in raised capital letters. |
