| 正面描述 | The obverse depicts Saint Marinus, the founder of the Republic, shown in the act of sculpting the Three Towers atop Mount Titano, the principal charge of the national coat of arms. The saint is rendered in a dynamic, sculptural style with tools in hand, his figure dominating the central field. The peripheral legend REPUBBLICA DI SAN MARINO encircles the composition, with the date 1991 also inscribed within the legend. |

San Marino issued this coin as part of its long-running practice of producing commemorative silver for the international collector market — a revenue strategy the republic has pursued aggressively since the 1970s. The 1992 Barcelona Games prompted a wave of advance issues from smaller states with no athletic delegation to speak of, and San Marino was among the earliest to mint.
KM#271 was struck at the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato in Rome, which has handled San Marino's coinage under successive conventions between the two states.
