| 正面描述 | Right-facing effigy of Queen Margrethe II occupies the central field, rendered in high relief with fine detail; the Queen is depicted wearing a diadem, pearl necklace, and a ruffled collar, her hair styled upswept. The circumferential legend reads 'MARGRETHE II' to the upper left, separated by a heart ornament from 'DANMARKS DRONNING' to the upper right, both in raised Latin capitals. The date '2008' appears in the lower portion of the border. The portrait is set within a slightly recessed inner field framed by a raised rim. |

The Dannebrog — Denmark's national flag — is claimed to be the oldest continuously used national flag in the world, with its origin legend placing a red cloth with a white cross falling from the sky during the Battle of Lyndanisse in Estonia in 1219. Whether that story survives serious scrutiny is debatable; that Denmark has deployed the flag politically and ceremonially without interruption for centuries is not. This 2008 issue was struck as part of Danmarks Nationalbank's ongoing commemorative silver program, which expanded significantly in the 2000s to mark Danish historical and cultural subjects at the one-troy-ounce format.
