| 正面描述 | The national coat of arms of Cameroon occupies the central field, featuring a shield charged with scales of justice surmounted by a five-pointed star, flanked by two crossed fasces with axe heads, and supported by a decorative scroll bearing the bilingual legend 'REPUBLIC OF CAMEROON / REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN'. The country name 'REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN' arcs along the upper periphery, with the three national motto words 'PAIX / PEACE', 'TRAVAIL / WORK', and 'PATRIE / FATHERLAND' inscribed in both French and English at the upper left, top, and upper right respectively. The date '2021' appears in the upper field above the coat of arms, while the denomination '500 FRANCS CFA' is prominently displayed along the lower portion of the coin. The fineness mark 'Ag 999' and the mint mark 'mw' are inscribed in the lower left field. |

This piece belongs to a wave of art-themed collector issues from the Central African Economic and Monetary Community's member states — Cameroon among them — that have used the BEAC's issuing authority to produce numismatic items with essentially no domestic circulation relevance. The amber insert references Dürer's use of warm, resinous glazes in the 1500 self-portrait, though the connection between that Munich Alte Pinakothek panel and a Central African monetary instrument requires some tolerance for creative licensing.
Dürer dated the original work January 6, 1500 — deliberately close to the Christian feast of Epiphany, a choice most art historians read as self-consciously theological rather than incidental.
