| Reverse description | The central field presents a seated armored knight in three-quarter view, facing left, wearing a helmet and chainmail with decorative belt, raising his right index finger in a commanding gesture while resting his left hand on a sword or lance laid diagonally across his lap. The figure sits upon a low plinth or bench, with decorative ankle guards visible. The legend RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA arcs around the upper periphery in bold Latin capitals. The date 1924 appears in the lower exergual area, flanked by small ornamental devices. |

Poland's 1924 coinage program was an urgent fiscal priority — the newly reconstituted state had spent its first years of independence lurching through catastrophic inflation, and the establishment of Bank Polski that same year, backed by a U.S.-brokered stabilization loan negotiated under Edwin Kemmerer, was the mechanism by which the złoty replaced the worthless marka at a rate of 1,800,000 to one. Trial strikes in bronze for a denomination ultimately issued in silver reflect the exploratory nature of that transitional minting program, where composition, weight, and die combinations were tested before production commitments were made.
