| Obverse description | Central device depicts a Raggiana Bird of Paradise with wings fully spread, perched upon a traditional kundu drum and a spear crossed horizontally, rendered in fine line engraving. The legend PAPUA NEW GUINEA curves along the upper periphery in bold raised letters, while the date 2007 appears in the lower field.
