| Reverse description | A frontal view of the Austrian Parliament building in Vienna dominates the reverse, rendered in fine relief with a deliberately matte surface treatment applied between the colonnade pillars to create contrast and depth. The structure is depicted in precise architectural detail, including the classical portico and flanking wings. The commemorative legend '50 JAHRE REPVBLIK' arcs across the upper field, while the two dates '1918' and '1968' appear in the lower exergue, flanking the base of the building to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the Austrian Republic. The design was executed by engraver Fritz Tiefenthaler. |
