| Obverse description | Central device depicts a stylized Egyptian vulture with wings fully spread, rendered in the manner of ancient Egyptian relief art, occupying the lower half of the field. Above the vulture, the Arabic legend جمهورية مصر العربية (Arab Republic of Egypt) is inscribed in two lines, flanked to the upper field by a lotus flower ornament.
