Cuba issued a wave of large-format silver pieces through the 1990s under a hard-currency program designed to attract foreign collector revenue — effectively using numismatics as a sanctions-era export. The Jupiter piece belongs to a series drawing on classical mythology, struck at the Casa de la Moneda and distributed almost exclusively through international dealers rather than domestic circulation.
