Beschrijving keerzijde A full-colour depiction of the Red Dragon — Y Ddraig Goch, the heraldic symbol of Wales — dominates the entire field against a deep blue background, rendered in vivid shades of red and orange with green-tipped claws and wings outstretched. The dragon is shown passant, facing left, with green eyes and detailed scale work applied through selective colour printing. A decorative scroll banner at the top of the field bears the inscription 'THE RED DRAGON', while a second scroll at the base carries the denomination 'FIFTY PENCE'. Stylised star-burst motifs accent the background field on either side of the dragon, enhancing the decorative character of the design.

Aanvullende informatie

Jersey has issued colourised commemoratives with some regularity, but the selective colour application here — printing directly onto the struck surface rather than hand-enamelling — reflects the same industrial process that the Royal Mint and its licensed partners have standardised across modern British commemorative programmes. These pieces are legal tender in Jersey, though the island's currency relationship with the UK means they circulate in a system technically separate from, but pegged to, sterling.
